About Me

🇺🇸 Boulder, CO 🛰️ PhD at CU Boulder AVS Lab

A global path across Europe, the Middle East, and the U.S. shaped how I approach space systems, autonomy, and mission design.

Daniel Huterer Prats

Hi! I’m Daniel Huterer Prats. I was born in Italy and moved to Austria when I was young, spending most of my childhood there before moving to Saudi Arabia, where I finished high school. I completed my undergraduate degree in Physics at New York University Abu Dhabi (with a semester in New York), then earned a master’s in Aerospace Science and Technology in Barcelona. After that, I spent a year in the aerospace industry in Toulouse, France—working as an aerospace consultant and as a GNC engineer, including as a lead engineer for a European Commission–led project. In the summer of 2024, I started my PhD in Colorado at the Autonomous Vehicle Systems Lab.

Outside of research, I love playing soccer—well, football—and I’ve played ever since I was a kid in Austria. I continued through high school in Saudi and as a student-athlete at NYU Abu Dhabi, and to this day I still enjoy pick-up games on the weekends. I also love exploring nature, scuba diving, I’m currently working on my pilot’s license, and I’m always excited to travel and experience different countries and cultures.
